What is Kindermusik

In every Kindermusik class, your child is welcomed into a playful and nurturing environment where they will sing, move, play instruments, and hear stories—all while developing social skills, problem-solving skills, pre-math skills, and a foundation for reading. Our research-based curriculum focuses on whole-child development and helps you understand how your child is developing musically, cognitively, and socially.

About the Program

Kindermusik philosophy is to provide fun and social musical experience for parents and children. Kindermusik lessons are planned to encourage your child’s development in every and each way.

They stimulate brain growth and co-ordination that will help with literact development, and provide the fundamental building blocks for math and science skills. Kindermusik classes will improve your child’s gross and fine motor skills, and will help him/her develop social and communication skills.

Kindermusik is about making connections. It is very important for us to share an incredible bonding experience with your child, and the experience of learning and laughing together but also with other parents and children that can lead to life-long friendships. Our Kindermusik program will give you tons of activities to repeat with your toddler at home, enriching your daily routines with music and fun.

With more than 35 years of experience as the leader in musical learning, Kindermusik International understands music’s unique ability to impact children (and families) in profound ways. The benefits of Kindermusik Program

As a trained and licensed Kindermusik educator, I am aware the importance of providing children with an early music educational foundation. That’s why I choose to teach Kindermusik. Based on recent research and developmentally appropriate methodologies, the Kindermusik curricula uses music as the vehicle for learning during the first seven years of a child’s life, however, the benefits of music extend well beyond those early years. The benefits of music for children involve:

  • Early Literacy and Language Development: Active music-making and activities that emphasize steady beat, rhythm, and pitch increase phonological awareness due to similarities in brain functioning between music and language. Plus, stories, nursery rhymes, fingerplays, and songs increase vocabulary acquisition and support early language development.
  • Social-Emotional Skills: Music classes for children cultivate sharing, turn-taking, active listening, cooperation, paying attention, and healthy social interaction with peers and adults. These activities help children to grow into socially confident and capable people.
  • Cognitive Skills: Musical learning provides gains in abstract reasoning, spatial and temporal reasoning, and self-control.
  • Physical Skills: Playing developmentally appropriate instruments and moving around the room to music provides children opportunities to practice both fine- and gross-motor skills each week in class and at home with you.
  • Music Skills: Kindermusik prepares children for traditional music lessons, including piano, violin, and voice. In class, children may experience steady beat during lap bounces or clapping games, play instruments together to support early ensemble development, learn to tap basic rhythm patterns, and sing age-appropriate songs to support vocal development.
